Prototype? RARE 1999 B/O Electronics Baby Brainy Furby Knockoff W/ Box + Manual

Description

This one is unusual to say the least. Research leads me to this being a very rare Furby or Interactive Gizmo Knockoff, but this particular example could be a production sample or prototype. Tag shows "Made In China" and B/O Electronics.
Item is zip tied together oddly and cut very jagged. Stitching done loosely. Box poorly assembled and doesn't seem to fit together well. When item was tested,
batteries got very hot
when removed after just 15 minutes. Battery holder is unusually arranged.
I do NOT recommend this item be tested or played with for more than a few minutes. Enjoy at your own risk.
When tested, item seemed to mostly work. Eyelids were droopy at times. Ears got stuck once. Toy responded to mouth button being pressed and stomach being pressed. Unsure if item responded to speech or was a coincidence. I am happy to conduct further testing for a devoted buyer.
Sounded EXACTLY like an actual Furby. Item went to sleep EXACTLY like an actual Furby. I believe this particular example is nothing more than a reskin after watching videos of this item and an actual Furby.
Item was acquired through a salvage supplier. Only one was available. Item has slight smoke residue. Purely a guess; the salvage supplier recently purchased the remains of B/O Electronics or Smart Planet Toys and this item was part of that acquisition.
However, please understand this could be a normal production model - maybe at the beginning or end of a factory run. Too little is known about this item to come to a rock solid conclusion on production. I'm making a guess based on the aforementioned alone.
