ONLY two weeks after Woodstock, and with 150,000 wild fans in attendance, the 1969 Isle of Wight Festival featured two massive headliners -
The Who and Bob Dylan. The shows were legendary, mostly due to it being Dylan's first concert in nearly three years following his 1966 motorcycle accident. Unlike Dylan, The Who had just played Woodstock and rocked the crowd with their rock opera, Tommy . Although Dylan and his backing band (who would later become The Band) fell short of the audience's expectations, three songs would be included on Dylan's 1970 album, Self Portrait .the massive musical line up included: THE MOODY BLUES, PRETTY THINGS--FAT MATTRESS, JOE COCKER,BONZO DOG BAND, FAMILY, FREE, BLOODWYN PIG,,RICHIE HAVENS, TOM PAXTON, PENTANGLE,AND IF YOU CAN BELIEVE IT EVEN more BANDS.REAT PART OF HISTORY ...
